HIS HD 2900XT Review
After waiting for quite long time about R600 release, at least ATI release the R600 card as HD 2900XT. But how about the performance?? Can R600 beat 88GTX from nVidia? Let’s see the test from HIS, as ATI’s partners that launch the first HD 2900XT.
The Chipset graphics DX10 from ATI finally launch after several delay . The new features are 320 Stream processing and 512bit memory interface. The price that offered so interesting (approximately $500 for the price first launch in Indonesia).

2 x 1GB Team Xtreem DDR2 PC800 @860Mhz 4-4-4-10
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4 bios F8
PSU ThermalTake 700W Toughpower
HDD Sata2 WDC Caviar 200Gb
The 2nd System test with VGA @Overclock condition:
Intel C2D E4300 @ 3.5GHz
Adata Extreme 1066+ 2×1GB
Foxconn 965
HIS HD 2900xT 512MB DDR3
Corsair HX 520w modular
Hitachi 80GB SATA2
The score looks like a little dissapointed for the 320 stream processors graphics card but wait a minutes… all test only use standard driver BOX from HIS, because the latest ATI Catalyst 7.4. doesnt support the HD 2900XT and ATI not yet launch the driver for HD 2900XT. The AtiTools 0.27b doesn’t detect well the core clock and mem clock, even the temperature know as unknown. It’s the score cause the driver?? let’s see the next newest driver from ATI.
Consclusion:
Powerful Graphics Card
Good looking HSF and Silent
DirectX 10
320 Stream Processing
512bit Memory Interface
ViVo (Video Input Video Output)
HDMI, Integrated HD Audio
The prices are cheap, in Indonesia for the first launch, the prices about US$ 500
Driver not ready
The score still under the rival 88GTX
Need good quality PSU 600w++
